There is nothing quite like working with an artist like Naomi, who allows my imagination & ideas to roam free and dream-up different hairstyles for hair every time we work together!
She totally trusts me and that makes working with so much fun.
This was my world for three weeks on the world press tour with Naomie, who plays a character in the new STARWARS ‘ The Rise of Luke Skywalker’ film.
Yes STARWARS’, can a film release get any bigger?
No! not really! Being a part of creating looks for film premieres, red carpet events and tv-interviews is always exciting, but especially so when working with an artist who is always open to try something new and different.
Advance preparations started back here in London weeks in advance with my amazing team of assistants. This was key to making what was an insane travelling schedule across the States and the UK, with changing timezone changes and hectic schedules, seem an easy transition – getting Naomi camera ready each and every time with new looks, Yes – Even with 4:30AM call-times thrown in the mix.
I adore working with natural Afro hair-textures, as they are beyond versatile & allow my creative mind to go crazy – I am most in my element designing and creating styles, creating look after look using Naomi’s natural hair and lots of amazing hair pieces.
My theme for the entire tour & movie premieres was to create elegant styles playing with natural textures, that turn heads and make strong style statements. I love that women are inspired by what they see on the red carpet and adapt fashion & red carpet looks to work with their own hair.
For the London premiere, my team & I created 24-inch braids adorned with black Swarovski crystals to catch the light and flashing cameras– I mean who wouldn’t want to sashay down the red-carpet knowing everyone’s heads are turning to catch another glimpse.
Naomi’s a joy to be around, she is confident, playful, energetic and drop-dead-beautiful. Serving Hollywood glamour with a British twist & dressed by the best of British designers, including Christopher Kane and Stella McCartney for the London & Los Angeles premieres – It’s all about creating those magical moments that allow your artist to celebrate their work and shine.
I am living my dream of travelling the world making people, who’s talent & artistry I admire, look and feel very special.
What an adventure!
