Course Overview
High-Fashion Editorial & Catwalk Hair Styling allows artists from the world of fashion, design, music and performance to push artistic and technical boundaries of styling hair towards the unexpected, telling stories through visual images that capture audiences’ imagination.
It is within this world that you will explore your individual creative vision and ability as a stylist to articulate and translate your ideas into confident & powerful on-tend style-statements.
Across the 3 days – You will be nurtured & supported in the art of artistic collaboration to expand your creative freedom, while guiding you towards a focused approach of working within specific design briefs.
The course offers a Masterclass setting – covering a selection of the very latest editorial techniques trends! On Day Three of this course we produce & art-direct a high-end portfolio photo-shoot with a professional creative team, all working to capture your visionary hair designs. This is your opportunity to shine and add images to your portfolio of work to impress and secure clients!
(Please note: We advise stylists with limited session experience to book this course in conjunction with at least 1 other module of your choice!)
The Course Covers:
- Capturing latest editorial and catwalk hair trends
- Articulating and Presenting your ideas
- Designing, Prepping, Focusing your ideas
- Changing styles during a shoot
- Finishing hair to photographic perfection
- On-set etiquette
- Full Day Photo-Shoot on the final day / Collaborative work with professional art-director, photographer, models, make-up artists and designers
TOOLS & REQUIREMENTS
A complete kit is required to take part in the course. The styling tools you will need to bring along to all classes are: Professional Hairdryer with nozzle & diffuser, Straightening irons, Velcro rollers, Curling tongs 24mm (no wands!), Tail comb, Large Tooth comb, Cutting comb, Small & Medium Bristle Round Brushes, Small & Medium Ceramic Round Brushes, Paddle brush, Denman brush, Sectioning clips, Hairdressing scissors, Water spray. The Kevin Fortune Hair Styling Academy will provide all the styling-products needed during classes.
